Chef Mark Abernathy has more than 40 years’ experience in the restaurant industry as a chef, owner, manager, consultant and developer. Mark has represented the South with pride during this time and was selected to participate in the Nationally Celebrated Salute to Southern Chefs six years in a row. The Arkansas-native has opened numerous critically-acclaimed restaurants including Abernathy’s, The Bijou, Juanita’s, Blue Mesa Grill, Bene Vita, Loca Luna and Red Door. He has participated in more than 425 televised cooking demonstrations such as Food Network’s “Rachael Ray’s Tasty Travels” and was the host and creator of ABC’s “Today’s Cuisine.” He has been featured in COOK’S, Delta Sky Magazine, Gourmet, The New York Times, Southern Living, FOOD ARTS and The Washington Post.
