Chris Carter, originally from Hendersonville, TN and is currently living in Nashville, TN. He attended the University of Memphis majoring in hospitality management and then moved to Scottsdale, AZ to attend Le Cordon Bleu. During school he took the Sous Chef position at Dragon Fly Café on Via Linda, worked at Atlas Bistro as well as Twisted Eatery in Old Town Scottsdale, AZ and then Fleming’s before moving back to Nashville, TN. He took a job with Capital Grille at the Hermitage Hotel when he returned to Nashville, TN. He worked at the hotel for 3 years before meeting, his now business partner, James Peisker. Chris and James opened Porter Road Butcher in October 2011 in East Nashville. Porter Road Butcher is a locally sourced whole animal butcher shop that specializes in utilizing the whole animal. All the meat is pasture raised, with no antibiotics or hormones, and within 3 hours of the shops. In 2015, Porter Road Butcher purchased a slaughter and processing facility in Princeton, Kentucky.
