Lee Gregory

Richmond, VA The RooseveltSouthbound

South Carolina native and adopted son of Virginia, Lee Gregory got his culinary start working an internship. In Lee’s case, it happened to be with Richmond Chef Dale Reitzer of Acacia, who not only taught him a love and appreciation for cooking, but also instilled in him a love for the city of Richmond, VA. After working for Reitzer for five years, Lee moved on, spending time working at Six Burner in Richmond, Mockingbird in Staunton, VA and Blue Light Grill in Charlottesville, VA, but he eventually made his way back to Richmond, VA. In 2011, Lee and partner Kendra Feather opened The Roosevelt in Richmond’s historic Church Hill, an almost instantaneous city staple. Gregory teamed up with Joe Sparatta of Heritage and local Richmond farmer Matt Gottwald to open the seasonally driven, upscale casual eatery, Southbound. Gregory supports several children and hunger focused charities in Virginia, including SCAN (Stop Child AbuseNow) and The Central Virginia Food Bank. He lives with his wife Christine and their two children; Emma Grace and Keeton in Richmond, VA.
