Hailing from Athens, Georgia, the Atlanta-based chef, Andrea Kirshtein, began her career working with several illustrious chefs including Chef Gary Mennie and Richard Blais. Chef Kirshtein moved to NYC as a member of the opening team at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s critically acclaimed ABC Kitchen. She accepted the position as Executive Pastry Chef at Richard Blais’, The Spence, in Atlanta when it opened in early 2012. Since then, Kirshtein has received accolades including Tasting Table’s “Best Pastry Chef 2013,” a feature in Garden and Gun magazine, and was nominated for Food & Wine magazine’s “Peoples Best New Pastry Chef 2013.” In 2015, Chef Kirshtein became Executive Pastry Chef at Hugh Acheson’s award winning Empire State South. In the winter of 2017, Kirshtein opened The Mourning Dove Café in Buckhead Atlanta, her first solo endeavor as a chef.
