Chef Daniel Doyle is Chef/Owner of Poogan’s Hospitality Group of Charleston. The group includes Poogan’s Porch, Charleston’s oldest Southern restaurant, and Poogan’s Smokehouse. Chef Doyle takes a contemporary approach to traditional Lowcountry dishes. His experience and passion allow Chef Doyle to be innovative in menu development as he continues guidance and direction of both restaurant kitchens as well as the group’s catering division. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales and spent time as executive chef in a number of kitchens in North Carolina and South Carolina before taking the helm of Poogan’s Porch in 2007. In 2015, Chef Doyle developed the menu and concept for Poogan’s Smokehouse, a more casual barbecue restaurant. He became a partner in 2012. Chef Doyle has had the privilege to be invited to cook at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017.
