A restaurateur for 27 years, Heidi Trull developed her creative southern dishes through training and experimentation. After high school, she immersed herself in cooking, and received a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales in Charleston, SC. Trull then opened the award-winning Elizabeth’s Restaurant. Elizabeth’s received rave reviews in Gourmet and Southern Living, and was featured on CBS “Sunday Morning.” Trull and husband, Joe, returned to South Carolina to open Grits & Groceries in a refurbished country store. Grits & Groceries has been spotlighted on local programs, and national television broadcasts such as the Food Network and PBS’ “Travels with Darley.” They have been featured in The New York Times and on CNN.com. Trull published two cookbooks, and always remains active in the community as a former Chef Ambassador for the State of South Carolina and Advisory Board member for AF&WF and Euphoria Greenville. She also teaches a 4H cooking club and mentors teens interested in culinary careers.
