Seamus Mullen is an award-winning chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and wellness expert. Having grown up on an organic farm in Vermont, Seamus learned early in life the value of eating real, whole foods and he carried this knowledge with him as he cooked throughout Spain, NY and San Francisco. His first solo restaurant, Tertulia, opened in NYC in 2011 and was recognized as a finalist for the James Beard Foundation Award for Best New Restaurant. In 2013 he opened El Colmado, a tapas bar in Gotham West Market, and in 2018 transformed half of the space into Whirlybird + Greens, a fast-casual restaurant based around rotisserie-and-sides, bowls, and soups. Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2007 Seamus was forced to rethink his relationship with food and through dietary and lifestyle changes he was able to turn his health around. His first cookbook, ‘Hero Food’ was published in 2012, and his second ‘Real Food Heals: Eat to Feel Younger + Stronger Every Day’ was released in 2017.
