Meredith Pittman

As a Corinth native, Meredith Pittman grew up boating and riding the backroads of North Mississippi. Her down home roots reflect in dishes featured at CAET Wine Bar, where she is Executive Chef.

After graduating from Mississippi State, Pittman worked for a construction company in Memphis, TN. She baked for her coworkers weekly, which unveiled a love for culinary arts and prompted a career change to Bluff City Coffee Bakery. Although she enjoyed baking, Pittman’s thirst for knowledge pushed her towards a career in savory cooking.

While attending Culinary Essentials at L’Ecole Culinaire in Memphis, Pittman honed her skills on the hot line at Restaurant Iris under Chef Kelly English. In 2013, The Second Line, Restaurant Iris’s sister restaurant, opened and Pittman became Sous Chef. She worked closely with English and cooked for several culinary events including La Bon Appetit, Atlanta Food & Wine, and James Beard dinners. In 2015, Pittman opened another Second Line location in Oxford, MS, as General Manager and Chef de Cuisine.

A year later, Pittman received an offer to work alongside James Beard semi-finalist, Derek Emerson. She can be found at CAET Wine Bar in Jackson, MS, whipping up creative, locally-sourced additions for the ever-evolving menu.
