Paula DePano’s exposure to wine began in 2007 as the Marketing & Public Relations Manager of Cav Wine Shop & Café, one of the few wine bars in the Philippines. In 2008, she moved to New York to study at the Culinary Institute of America. Right after graduating in 2010, she joined the Fearrington House as a sommelier. It was during DePano’s time at Fearrington that she passed her Advanced Sommelier Exams with the Court of Master Sommeliers and Advanced Level with Distinction with the Wines and Spirits Educational Trust. In 2014, DePano moved to New York City to be part of the multi-awarded wine team at three Michelin star restaurant, Eleven Madison Park. DePano returned to Fearrington Village as the Beverage & Service Director in the fall of 2016.
