Atlanta Food & Wine Festival
We’ve officially welcomed the summer season to Atlanta as of the solstice on June 20th, and with it came the heat. If you’re from anywhere in the South, you know that the summer brings intense temperatures, and we Southerners take any chance we get to cool down in this heat. But that doesn’t mean we want to simmer down our enjoyment! With the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival just two months away, we’re bringing you a list of some of our favorite summertime drinks to get you in the mood for the big event, featuring some brands you’ll be able to catch this September.
A true classic can’t be beat, especially when it’s full of so many summertime flavors. Citrus flavors stand out in two forms through orange liqueur and fresh lime juice, and you can’t forget the addition of a good tequila. We love a serving of Tequila Cazadores, who will also be joining us this September at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival. Oh, and a salt-rim, always.
For our sober friends, non-alcoholic connoisseurs or those that just love a refreshing soft drink, perhaps nothing is more ideal than an ice-cold Coke Zero Sugar. As an Atlanta-based company, we have deep ties & an intense loyalty to this soda brand, always opting for them over any other must-not-be-named cola brands. Its flavor profile & appeal is so strong, it’s even an integral part of many classic cocktail recipes, like the Cuba Libre or simple Rum & Coke. It wouldn't be the Atlanta Food & Wine without lots of Coca-Cola stations around the festival grounds, so you better believe our favorite Atlanta-based brand will be back again this year in more ways than one— they’ll be featuring different flavor offerings in their catalog through mixology!
For our wine lovers, you can’t go wrong with a crisp, refreshing rose as your summertime drink companion. It’s a great low-calorie option, full of antioxidants, and just looks really good in anyone’s hand. Now what if we told you it could get better? Our friends at Luna Nuda are returning with their famous Frosé machine this year, meaning you’ll basically get to cool off with the adult version of a slushy.
You’ve never had a spiked lemonade like this before. Our friends at Crown Royal have cracked the code for the perfect alcoholic lemonade recipe using their Crown Royal Fine De Luxe. With exceptional smoothness and an underlying sweet vanilla flavor, this whiskey beautifully combines with the tanginess of lemon to produce the most crisp & refreshing summer drink. If you’re opting for mix-ins, we’d recommend fresh berries, lemon slices, and mint leaves. We can’t wait to see what summer drink Crown Royal will be serving up at this year’s AFWF.
Sometimes, you can’t be bothered to whip up a multi-ingredient cocktail in the heat of the summer and just want something that’s already prepared for you. When that’s the case, our go-tos are Fresca Mixed’s canned vodka spritzes or tequila palomas. Made with authentic spirits and no sugar, these drinks (which come with 5% alcohol by volume, by the way) are also easy to pop in a cooler and take to whatever summertime plan you have on your agenda. Their ice-cold goodness will be up for grabs this September at our Tasting Tents presented by Goya Foods.
