Bartholomew Broadbent is the owner of Broadbent Selections, est. 1996, one of America’s finest wine importing companies. He also produces Broadbent Madeira, Vinho Verde and Port. In 1989, having moved to America four years earlier to develop the Port market, Bartholomew was responsible for reintroducing Madeira to the USA, as it had never recovered from Prohibition’s destructive effect. Broadbent Selections continues to build the Madeira revival but now also represents famous wines from most wine producing countries including Chateau Musar, Ferreira, Spy Valley, Tyrrell’s, Elderton and almost all the most cutting edge wineries in South Africa. He lives in Richmond, VA and loves representing Barboursville, Virginia’s greatest winery.
